LTSP By-The-Sea 2007

Many of the LTSP developers get together every year, usually in early November. This is something that become known as "LTSP By-The-Sea", or LTSP-BTS. It got this name, because the first time we did it. It was in South West Harbor Maine, back in November of 2003. Southwest harbor is along the Atlantic ocean. So, we got "By The Sea".

LTSP BTS 2003 - Southwest Harbor, Maine

Eric Harrison and Jim McQuillan were invited by David Trask to go to Augusta, Maine to participate in an educational conference. On Saturday, Oct 18th, we went to Chuck Liebow's house in South west harbor, Maine for lobster and beer. How could we turn that down?

It was a short event, but productive. During the car ride between Boston and Maine, we came up with ltspinfo which has been a very important part of LTSP.

LTSP BTS 2004 - Southwest Harbor, Maine

Once again, we found ourselves in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Only this time, we brought along a bunch of friends. And, we stayed for 3 days at the Seawall motel, in Seawall, Maine.

LTSP BTS 2005 - Montreal, Quebec, Canada

We started out planning to visit SW.Harbor again, but we found that it overlapped with the Ubuntu Developer Summit, which was being held in Montreal, Canada. After talking with Mark Shuttleworth, we decided to move our gang of misfits up to Montreal, so we could collaborate with the Ubuntu developers.

LTSP BTS 2006 - San Francisco, California, USA

This time, we held BTS out on the west coast, because the Ubuntu developer summit was being held in Mountain View, and many of the LTSP developers were also going to be at UDS, it made sense to hold it there. So, we got a banquet room at a restaurant in the fisherman's Wharf area.

LTSP BTS 2007 - Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA

Back to South West Harbor, Maine. The Ubuntu Developer Summit was held in Cambridge, MA this year, so it worked out great, because several of the LTSP developers were also attending UDS. So, the UDS finished on Friday, Nov 2nd and we headed north to Maine. One thing we didn't plan on was Tropical Storm Noel. We caught the tail end of it on Saturday. Lots of wind and rain and flickering lights.
