How to get connected to LTSP irc help channel

If you have a JAVA enabled browser click HERE for the #LTSP help channel

Or continue with this tutorial....

Here is what you have to do to get connected to the #ltsp channel on irc.freenode.net

You will need a chat client. While most distros include one automatically (look under Internet in the menus), you may need to install one. Check your distro's repositories. This tutorial will use x-chat, which can be found here xchat

Got one installed? GOOD.

Now on to how to get connected (that's why you are here, right?)

Start x-chat from the Applications menu or by typing xchat in a terminal.

This is the server window. At the top you can choose your nickname which is the name that others in the chatroom will see. (No, you cannot use mine).

In the Networks section, select irc.freenode.net (it may appear as just FreeNode) and then click on the Connect button.

If everything works out, you should connect to the server.

You will see something similar to this.

Ok, on to the last part. In the field in the bottom of the window, you type:

    /join #ltsp

then press the Enter key.

That's it. You are now connected to the Linux Terminal Help Channel.

To talk in here you just type in the bottom field, and hit enter.

Hope to see you there.
