LTSP-4.1 is the previous version of LTSP. The current version of LTSP is 4.2.
Installing LTSP
Installation of LTSP-4.1 is very simple.
- Download and install the latest ltsp-utils package
http://www.ltsp.org/ltsp-utils-0.11-0.noarch.rpm
http://www.ltsp.org/ltsp-utils-0.11.tgz
- As root, run ltspadmin.
- If you have a previous version LTSP already installed, it is recommended
that you install the ltsp-4.1 packages into
a separate directory, such as:
/opt/ltsp-4.1.
You can configure this with the ltspadmin utility.
- Install ALL of the packages
- Choose the 'Configure LTSP' menu item, which will cause it to run
the ltspcfg utility. Use this utility to setup
the services.
Sound
The client-side sound support is already built into the ltsp-core packages,
but you will still need a package installed on the server, to setup
the environment to re-direct the sound to the workstation.
Take a look at
Sound for more information and the sound packages.
Third party RPMs
You can find the spec files to build your own RPMs at
ftp://ftp.wizzy.com/pub/wizzy/ltsp-4.1.1/ltsp-4.1.1.specs.tgz, and in the same directory
ftp://ftp.wizzy.com/pub/wizzy/ltsp-4.1.1/ rpms built to those specs. The specs were semi automagically generated from the tarballs and dependency files for the
http://wizzy.org.za/ project. Some manpages were removed, and client-side binaries with X dependencies in the snmp suite were also removed. Everything is tagged noarch.
Third party DEBs
can be found in the same place:
