LTSP 5 Status

Integrating LTSP into a Linux distribution is not an easy job. It requires intimate knowledge of how LTSP works, and how the specific distro works. Here's the list of Linux vendors that are current providing, or plan to provide LTSP (NB: a bit dated, Fedora/Gentoo/Slackware status seems inadequate):

Vendor Status Comments
ALT Linux Good ALTSP5 is production quality since 2008, busy with merging upstream
Debian - Testing Excellent Vagrantc worked closely with the Ubuntu team to provide a very robust implementation of LTSP for Debian
Debian - Unstable Excellent see above
Fedora not supported Work is being done to provide LTSP-5 in Fedora Core 7
Gentoo not supported Work is being done to provide LTSP-5 in the future
Slackware not supported Work is being done to provide LTSP-5 in Slackware 10 and 11, community support
SUSE Good Work is in progress, see http://en.opensuse.org/LTSP if you want to join the effort
Ubuntu - 6.10 (Edgy) Excellent The Ubuntu team did most of the heavy lifting, to get LTSP to a point where it could be integrated.
Ubuntu - 6.06 (Dapper) Good The LTSP in dapper works well, but doesn't support some features and some are difficult to configure.
